From teaching students as young as three, to recording for TV, Laura is a diverse violinist and violin teacher based in North Somerset, but able to travel further afield. Available for weddings, ceremonies, birthdays, funerals and private tuition.

Laura Heathcote began studying the violin at the age of six. From the age of eight Laura began participating and winning competitions such as the Weston Junior Arts Festival, and the Bristol and Bath Festivals.
At the age of 12 she won a scholarship to study Violin and Flute at the Junior Department of the Royal college of Music; where she excelled in her Quartet, Trio and the Junior RCM Symphony Orchestra. With the Royal College of Music Laura performed at many of London's top concert Venues, including St John's Smith Square and the Purcell Rooms. Laura's RCMDJD Trio performed with the Royal Ballet School.
At the age of 13, Laura appeared on Blue Peter as part of the BBC Young Music Makers competition, and also joined the West Of England Schools Symphony Orchestra as one of it's youngest members.
At the age of 15, Laura received a scholarship to study at the prestigious chamber music course, Pro Corda. A keen ensemble and orchestral player, she performed solos with the Weston Youth Orchestra, which she went on to lead in 2006.
In 2009 Laura gained a place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she studied with Peter Hanson and Marius Bedeschi, whilst at the prestigious music college, Laura co-led the Symphony orchestra, and was principal second violinist for the Chamber Orchestra.
Laura led her own established quartet- the Bennett Quartet. Since this, she has gone on to perform with the Bristol String Quartet for weddings, corporate events and concerts, as well as choral societies and various theatre shows.
In 2013, Laura was asked to perform the Bruch Violin Concerto with the SCYO, touring Europe and performing in Holland.

Laura has been teaching the violin and flute for 10 years, and has taught all abilities and ages. She believes in the fundamentals of teaching, getting the technical aspects of playing right from the start. Pupils of Laura's have gone on to receive high distinctions in ABRSM exams, as well as joining prestigious children's orchestras.
